• 2024 – Drafted by the Toronto Argonauts (CFL) in the sixth round (64th overall). He signed with the Argos on May 6 and was released on June 1 at the conclusion of training camp

(Toronto/Calgary) Sambu attended training camp with the Argonauts and saw action in two pre-season games. He was released on June 1 and signed with the Stampeders on July 16. In eight games with the Stamps, he had 10 defensive tackles and four sacks. Sambu made his professional debut in Week 9 against Toronto and recorded his first career sack.

College

Sambu played his final season (2023) at Baylor. He played 12 games for the Bears and recorded a pair of tackles. He spent the previous four years (2019-22) at the University of Maine and in 28 games for the Black Bears, Sambu accumulated 59 tackles including 10 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. In 2022, he led Maine in sacks with 5.5 and in quarterback hurries with six.

Personal

Sambu is a graduate of Cochrane High School and he represented the Cobras as a member of the South all-stars at the 2016 Senior Bowl. He played three games for the Calgary Colts juniors in 2016 and spent one season with the Football North program in Mississauga, Ont., before enrolling at the University of Maine.
