2024

(Calgary) Thompson was in uniform for 16 games and made five starts at safety. He recorded eight defensive tackles, eight special-teams stops and one knockdown.

2023

(Calgary) Thompson joined the Stampeders on Sept. 16 and appeared in four regular-season games, recording one defensive tackle and one special-teams stop. He was also in uniform for the Western Semi-Final.

2022

(Winnipeg) Thompson played 10 games and made seven starts for the Blue Bombers. He recorded 23 defensive tackles, five special-teams and one fumble recovery that he returned for six yards. Thompson’s fumble recovery as well as a season-high seven tackles came in a Week 4 game against the Toronto Argonauts.

2021

(Calgary/Hamilton) Thompson attended training camp with the Stampeders and was released on July 29, the date the rosters were finalized. He signed with Hamilton on Oct. 31 and saw action in two games, recording two special-teams tackles.

2020

(Calgary) Thompson was under contract with the Stampeders but the season was cancelled because of the global pandemic.

College

Thompson was a three-time Ontario University Athletics all-star at Wilfrid Laurier, earning first-team honours in 2016 and a second-team nod in both 2015 and 2019. He was also a first-team all-Canadian in 2016. In 31 career games for the Golden Hawks, he recorded 120.5 total tackles, nine interceptions, two sacks, eight knockdowns, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries. He also returned nine punts for 56 yards and one kickoff for 27 yards. Thompson added 11 tackles and one interception in two career playoff games.

Personal

Thompson attended Holy Names High School in Windsor, Ont. He also played junior football for the Essex County Ravens of the Ontario Varsity Football League.
