Years on the Outriders: 5
Education & Career: University of Calgary graduate with a Bachelor of Health Sciences in Honours Biomedical Science. Post graduation, I worked as a Cancer Researcher at Foothills Medical Centre for 2 years and have since moved into a management position at a Health & Wellness Clinic.

What inspired you to audition for The Outriders?
At 9 years old, I stumbled upon a vibrant dance studio flyer that practically screamed, “Join the fun!” With wide-eyed excitement, I waltzed into my first jazz class, and from that moment on, there was no turning back. For the next 8 years, I found myself caught up in the whirlwind of competitive dance, where every performance was an opportunity to express myself and push my limits. At 18, I took a giant leap into the professional dance scene, landing a spot at Calaway
Amusement Park. I embraced this first professional dance opportunity with open arms, eager to showcase my skills and passion to the world. My journey continued to evolve as I joined the Calgary Roughnecks Drill Crew, where I found camaraderie and growth in equal measure. Encouraged by my mentors and cheered on by friends, I embraced new opportunities, eventually finding my way to the esteemed Calgary Stampeder Outriders, marking a significant milestone
in my dance odyssey. It was like finding my dance tribe – we laughed, we danced, and we made unforgettable memories despite a worldwide pandemic at the time! With every shuffle-ball-change and every hip shake, I’ve discovered that dance isn’t just about the moves – it’s about the laughter, the friendships, and the pure, unadulterated joy of letting loose and living life to the beat. So here’s to more twirls, more laughs, and more dance-floor shenanigans ahead!

What is your all time dance career highlight?
Last year, I found myself in one of those serendipitous “right time, right place” moments when I was scouted for a Canadian Country Music video—a pivotal milestone in my dance career. With the opportunity came the incredible freedom to craft my own choreography and bring it to life on screen. Little did I imagine that the connections forged in the dance world would seamlessly pave the way into the realms of music and film. Check it out!!

Who is someone you admire, and why?
I am going to cheat this question and choose multiple people… I admire each and every one of my teammates for their exceptional qualities and invaluable contributions to our team. I’m constantly inspired by their extraordinary qualities both on and off the dance floor. Their dedication to perfecting our routines, coupled with their innovative thinking and problem-solving skills, never fails to impress me. Beyond their dance prowess, these women are incredible individuals,
radiating kindness, strength, and positivity in everything they do. Whether it’s their attention to detail in choreography, their ability to remain poised under pressure, or their exceptional teamwork skills, each teammate brings something unique to our group. Together, we’re not just a dance team; we’re a sisterhood bound by mutual respect and a shared love for dance. With every performance, we showcase not only our talent but also the amazing people we are, inside and out.

What organization are you most excited to work with this season?
I am hoping to get to work with Big Brother Big Sisters of Calgary and Area again! If you are unfamiliar, they are a non-profit organization dedicated to helping children and youth reach their full potential through mentorship programs. They match adult volunteers with children and youth to provide them with positive role models and supportive relationships. Through one-on-one mentoring, group activities, and various programs, they aim to empower young people to achieve success in school, build confidence, and develop important life skills.

If you were a superhero, what superpower would you have?
If I were to don the cape and mask, I’d definitely want the superpower of telepathy! Imagine walking down the street and sensing someone feeling down or anxious—I’d swoop in with a mental hug or a reassuring thought to brighten their day. Most importantly, I would use my telepathy to throw surprise birthday parties by knowing exactly what people secretly wish for. And when it comes to foiling villains’ evil plans, forget about the classic superhero showdowns—I’d outsmart them by tapping into their thoughts and predicting their every move.

What advice would you give someone who wants to join the Outriders?
Start by mastering your moves and perfecting your technique through dedicated training sessions. Keep your body in top shape with regular exercise and healthy habits to ensure you’re ready to dazzle on the field! Network with fellow dancers, attend workshops, and seize every opportunity to showcase your talent. When it’s time to audition, bring your unique flair and confidence, and let your personality light up the dance floor. Remember to stay resilient, embrace the
journey, and never stop pursuing your love for dance!
