7 Things – Stamps @ Bombers

1. Us

The 2-2 Stampeders look to get back in the win column when they face the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in Manitoba this Friday. The Red and White dropped a close tilt to the undefeated Montreal Alouettes last weekend. Short yardage QB Tommy Stevens shone in La Belle Province as he racked up 49 yards on the ground, a 24-yard pass completion to Marken Michel on third and short, and two rushing scores.

Bruising tailback Dedrick Mills slots back into the lineup alongside Peyton Logan this week after missing a game due to an oblique injury.

2. Them

The Bombers picked up their first win of the season against the Ottawa Redblacks last week, improving their record to 1-4. It was backup pivot Chris Streveler who led the Blue and Gold to a 25-16 victory, however CFL MOP Zach Collaros returns as the starter for Friday’s match since recovering from a thorax injury he suffered against the Stamps two weeks ago.

3. Head-to-Head

Calgary took the first of two meetings with the Bombers this season with a 22-19 OT win in Week 4. Friday marks the final regular-season game between the two opponents, and with a victory on Friday night, the Red and White would secure the season series against Winnipeg.

7. Quotable:

“We got to rise up, keep working, and make sure we show up with a big challenge against Winnipeg.” – General manager and head coach Dave Dickenson on preparing for the Bombers following a short week.
