It was a strong start for the Stampeders on Saturday night in Montreal but the Alouettes were able to battle back in the second half for the 30-26 win.
The Stampeders fall to 2-2 on the season while the Alouettes improve to 5-0.
Tommy Stevens punched in two touchdowns on the night and Reggie Begelton added the other in the loss.
Jake Maier – 18-for-28, 106-yards, one touchdown, one interception
Peyton Logan – six carries, 65-yards
Marken Michel – seven receptions, 59-yards
Bentlee Sanders – four tackles, one interception
After each team traded punts to begin the game, the Alouettes were the first team to put points on the board with a major from in tight to make the score 7-0 halfway through the first-quarter.
The Stampeders put together a great response drive aided by a 39-yard Tommy Stevens QB sneak deep into Alouettes territory. He then finished the drive off with a one-yard plunge to make the score 7-7.

That would be the score following one quarter of play.
Cam Judge came up with a big play on defence to start the second-quarter as he forced a fumble which was recovered by Tre Roberson on the Montreal side of mid-field.
Rene Paredes added a field-goal on the Stampeders next drive to give Calgary the lead, 10-7.
Bentlee Sanders then picked-off Cody Fajardo to get the ball right back for the Stamps.

The interception kicked off another strong drive for the Stamps who put up another touchdown as Stevens powered in his second major of the night. A blocked extra-point returned for two-points by Montreal made the score 16-9 after the touchdown.

Calgary got the ball back late in the quarter. Following a 42-yard Peyton Logan rush, Maier found Reggie Begelton in the endzone from six-yards out to make the score 23-9.
Montreal managed to get into field-goal range and put up three points as the half wound down to send the score to the break 23-12 Stampeders.
Calgary put together a strong drive to start the second-half that ended with a Paredes 31-yard field-goal to make the score 26-12.
Montreal answered with a field-goal of their own to send the Stamps to the fourth-quarter with a 26-15 lead.
The Alouettes moved the ball down the field early in the fourth-quarter and got into the endzone making the score 26-21 following a failed two-point attempt.
Montreal continued to crawl closer as they pushed through a field-goal on their next drive to put the Stamps up 26-24.
Fajardo and the Alouettes offence got the ball back with under three-minutes remaining. Fajardo hit Tyson Philpot for 39-yards and then Montreal ran in a touchdown to take the 30-26 lead with 1:03 remaining following another unsuccessful two-point attempt.
Maier was picked off on the Stampeders final drive of the game and the Alouettes walked away with the 30-26 win.
